Hajimemashite

When you meet someone for the first time you
will say:

はじめまして、どうぞよろしくお願いします。
Hajimemashite, douzo
yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

This literally means:

This is the
first time. Please treat me with respect / kindness

In English it normally
translates has:

Please to meet you, How do you do?

Please
note, you only say the above once, and that is when you first meet the person. Do not say it on the second meeting or
there after.
